Clinical Nurse II needed for Labor & Delivery Unit

This is a 36-hour position, day/night rotation, full benefitted position with flexible scheduling. 

Our Labor & Delivery Unit is a Level III referral center, which provides care to both normal and high-risk laboring and ante partum patients. Approximately 3,800 babies are born each year at UNCH. Several thousand patients are also seen in its triage area. In addition, L & D providers and staff perform numerous high-risk procedures such as vaginal and cerclage placements, amniocentesis and versions as well as various fetal procedures, including IUTs, fetal shunt placements and exit procedures. The area consists of 15 labor and delivery rooms, 5 triage rooms, a 2-bed recovery room, and 3 operating rooms. Anesthesia coverage is provided 24/7.
 
Strengths: The staff are highly committed to caring for women, babies, and families. Staff are certified in neonatal resuscitation and have extensive training in fetal monitoring and high risk obstetrical care. Staff, after one year of employment, are ACLS certified. Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting

Qualifications

Graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing required. One year of nursing experience required.


If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.

 

Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.  Current Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR certification required.
