The rehabilitation therapies department at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill NC, is accepting applications for a Recreational Therapist. The recreational therapist will offer therapy services within the inpatient psychiatric units and behavioral health emergency department. The recreational therapist will plan, create and conduct individual and group therapy interventions taking into account specific patient needs, interests, resources needed and appropriate health, safety, infection control and risk management procedure to assure patient safety and therapeutic benefit. The recreational therapist will work closely with a team of experienced occupational, music and activities therapists. The recreational therapist must have excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment. The selected candidate will work Monday-Friday with occasional holiday coverage.
QualificationsBachelor's degree with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreational Therapy, which includes an internship. Licensed as a Recreational Therapist by the North Carolina Board of Recreational Therapy Licensure (NCBRTL). Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
