Central Sterile Tech needed for Central Processing Department
Performs and participates in the decontamination and cleaning of all instruments received, which includes and is not limited to instrumentation and equipment received from all units according to established standards and procedures.
Prepares case carts and trays for decontamination and load them into washer and/or sterilizer as prescribed by procedure. Perform the operation of the washers, ultrasonic cleaners, DSD Edge as well as manually cleaning instruments and equipment as prescribed by established standard standards and procedures.
Dissemble clean, assemble, and test limited instrumentation for proper functioning; route clean instruments and equipment to appropriate holding areas.
Use chemicals in the appropriate fashion taking into consideration the intended use of the chemical's function; knowledge of the appropriate PPE is also necessary.
Use computers for logging trays, equipment and case carts. ( Does not apply to all entities)
This is a 40 hour a week position with night shifts (11pm-7:30am). This position qualifies for a generous benefit package including PTO accrual based upon the number of hours hired to work. Must be able to complete a week long required hospital orientation (Monday through Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm)
QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED.
