Nurse Educator needed for Nursing Staffing Systems

Nursing Staffing Systems is responsible for various programs including Scheduling System, Workforce Management and Licensure Renewal Tracking. This office includes the Central Resource Office and Administrative Nursing Supervisors which is open 24 hours a day to cover staffing throughout the inpatient areas, coordinating a large group of float staff and any supplemental staff needed to enhance the workforce for the institution.

The Nurse Educator will be responsible for Nursing Staffing Systems  educational needs to include but not limited to coordination of orientation and precepting, annual yearly competencies, and hospital-wide initiatives. This is an advanced level position in education, which is performed under minimal supervision. Coordinates staff development and education needs for nursing staff providing patient care.

The Nurse Educator will report to the Director of Nursing Staffing Systems and work in collaboration with the PSM IIIs, PSM IIs, Administrative Nursing Supervisors, and Clinical Staffing Supervisor.

This position is 40 hours a week, primarily days with some occasional evening and weekend hours required to meet the needs of all staff.  This position qualifies for state benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from a state-accredited school of professional nursing. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. AHA BLS required. 

Three (3) years of experience in tertiary care with two (2) years clinical experience in the assigned specialty.


Professional certification must be obtained within the probationary period.
This is a State position employed by UNC Health Care System.
