The Administrative Specialist will work in the Pediatric Division of Surgery as an administrative professional. The selected candidate must be well organized, customer-service oriented, and have the ability to multi-task. This position will support multiple faculty members, advanced practice providers and staff within the division.
This position will be backup for scheduling OR cases for patients, once prior approval of the surgery is received. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. This individual must possess project management skills and must be able to work independently in order to complete tasks and duties within prescribed timelines. This position will be responsible for calendaring, curriculum vitae (CV) management, and other assigned administrative duties.
Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) are strongly preferred. Previous experience and knowledge of Epic is preferred, as the position will use the system daily. Good judgment and demonstrated tact and diplomacy are critical.
High School diploma or GED. Five (5) years of clerical experience of increasing variety and/or complexity.
If a Bachelor's degree: One (1) year of clerical experience of increasing variety and/or complexity.
If an Associate's degree: Three (3) years of clerical experience of increasing variety and/or complexity.
