Clinical Nurse II/Radiation Oncology


*Hours: 40hrs/week, Monday - Friday, Day shift position.

Radiation Oncology is seeking a highly motivated, patient centric team player to join our nursing team. Radiation Oncology nurses are integral members of the multidisciplinary Radiation Oncology team, providing education and direct patient care including psychosocial and symptom management support. Nurses in the Department of Radiation Oncology partner directly with physicians, advanced practice providers, radiation therapists, and other clinical and administrative staff to ensure that patient-focused and holistic care is provided.

The Department of Radiation Oncology provides radiation treatments to adult and pediatric inpatients for a wide variety of cancers.

Candidates should be able to adapt to change, be passionate about quality improvement, possess the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and have strong communication skills. Our ideal candidate would also have previous Oncology nursing experience, though not required. OCN certification and/or Radiation certification would also add strength to application.



Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing and at least one (1) year of nursing experience. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing. Current certification in Healthcare Provider BLS/ CPR required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Baccalaureate degree with a major in Nursing or a Master’s degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
