DescriptionThe HCS Director Payroll position reports to the HCS Executive Director Total Rewards & Systems. The position is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the work of the payroll center of expertise, including but not limited to payroll administration and processing. The position is accountable for accurate and timely payments to employees, accurate and timely processing of employee reimbursements, timely and accurate deposits of payroll taxes and liabilities, timely and proper filings of payroll tax returns, and proper distribution of payroll transactions to appropriate accounts in the general ledger. The position ensures compliance with regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations. The position assists with the design and implementation of payroll policies and processes, internal control compliance and oversight, and review and management of payroll systems. The HCS Director – Payroll position will be located in the Triangle. Some travel between System locations will be required.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business-related discipline.
Seven (7) years of experience in a progressive payroll function with knowledge of financial systems and regulatory compliance. (An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.)
Comprehensive knowledge of payroll systems, principles, procedures, and regulations.
