New Graduate RN needed for Hematology/Oncology Unit-4 Oncology

This opportunity is for new graduate RN's who are currently in their final semester of nursing school or who have graduated within the past 12 months of the anticipated start date and have worked as an RN for less than 6 months. It is expected that candidates will be eligible to practice as an RN in North Carolina prior to their first day of employment.
We're seeking new graduates with a strong interest in Oncology. This position is 36 hours per week, day/night and weekend rotation, with self-scheduling to meet individual and department needs.
4 Oncology is a 53 bed inpatient Hematology/Oncology unit that cares for solid tumor and hematologic malignancy patients including the management of transfusions, antibiotic therapy, chemotherapy/biotherapy and end of life care. We will provide you with the chemotherapy knowledge as well as disease-specific training to provide quality nursing care to this patient population.
New Graduate Nurses are part of the UNC Medical Center Residency Program (NRP). This program is a yearlong program supporting transition from academia to practice for new graduate nurses. The program is layered on top of orientation to provide mentored clinical relationships which support development as a professional nurse.
Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing. Bachelor’s degree in nursing, preferred.
Must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, if hired after January 6, 2014 and obtain a baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing or a Master’s degree with a major in nursing within seven years of employment date.
Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the Board of Nursing prior to start date. Current healthcare provider BLS/CPR certification required.
