Clinical Support Technician I for Surgical Oncology/ENT Acute Care
This 24-bed unit is located in a beautiful area located on 7th floor of Neuroscience Building. This unit cares for ENT and oncology patients including management of breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, endocrine cancer, melanoma, sarcoma and blood transfusions, antibiotic therapy, wound care and end of life care. We will provide you with the knowledge and training to provide quality surgical oncology care to this group of patients. Our goal is to ensure that excellent care is provided to both the patient and family throughout hospitalization while promoting a relaxing environment.
The Clinical Support Tech I is responsible for assisting the professional caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms and performing a wide range of clerical, transcription, and maintenance of the patient care unit desk area functions.
Unit supports professional growth opportunities, and strongly prefers applicants that are currently enrolled in a NAII program or willing to obtain their NA II license through an in-house NA II training program.
This position is 36 hours/week; rotating days and nights, (7a-7:30p and 7p-7:30a), with weekend rotation. This position qualifies for an extensive benefit package including PTO hours accrued based on the number of worked hours. It also requires the ability to attend a week long orientation (Monday through Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm) which is offered every two weeks.
High School diploma or GED. Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. One (1) year of clerical or customer service experience and six (6) months of related nursing assistant experience, which may include a nursing assistant course or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
