ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST PER DIEM
Oncology - NC Cancer Hospital
Scheduled Work Hours: 6:30a.m. – 5:30p.m. (M-F Days) 

 

JOB SUMMARY:  

Under general supervision of the Oncology leadership, our Administrative Specialist Per Diem position will provide coverage in all administrative areas within Oncology to include: Registration, Return Scheduling, New Intake, and the Communication Center. Locations included: NC Cancer Hospital, Hillsborough, and Eastowne. Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. as needed for each department. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

 

Responsibilities will vary per departmental needs. General responsibilities include:

  • Registering/scheduling patients by completing check-in/out processes

  • Complex coordination of appointments

  • Requesting external records

  • Departmental daily reports

  • Answering calls

  • Sorting faxes

  • Scanning documents

  • Responding to messages

  • Other general duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED. Five (5) years of clerical experience.

 

If a Bachelor's degree: One (1) year of clerical experience of increasing variety and/or complexity.

 

If an Associate's degree: Three (3) years of clerical experience of increasing variety and/or complexity.

This is a State position employed by UNC Health Care System.
