RN needed for Children's Short Stay Unit (CSSU)
This position is a 36 hours/week D/N/weekend rotation that qualifies for full time state benefits.
The Children's Short Stay Unit (CSSU) is is a fast-paced, multi-faceted unit with 8 beds dedicated to the care of patients requiring observation for 24 hours or less. Most patients are post-procedure or post-surgical patients including general pediatric surgery, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, oral-maxillofacial, orthopedics and urology. The unit cares for patients requiring infusion therapies and observation. Patient ages range from birth to adolescence.
The CSSU is open from Monday morning at 0700 until Saturday afternoon generally. This area prides itself on providing quality care to all patients with an emphasis on customer service, evidence-based practice, and pediatric specialization.
Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 3 years acute care pediatric experience.
Graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing. One (1) year of nursing experience. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
