RN needed for Wakebrook Campus Inpatient Unit

 

Wakebrook Campus located on Sunnybrook Road in Raleigh is a 72 bed free-standing psychiatric facility providing inpatient and outpatient services in Wake County.  Wakebrook Inpatient Unit is a 28 bed adult psychiatric unit providing inpatient services for crisis and psychotic disorder adult patient populations. 

 

The RN provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.  Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process on a busy, acute care, inpatient psychiatric setting. This position includes professional tasks such as primary nursing assignment, medication administration, EMR documentation, and therapeutic interactions with the patients.  The ability to monitor and assess patients, critically analyze the information, and subsequently plan care and interventions are critical.  Must be willing to lead patient groups/programming.  Flexibility in shifts assignments and ability to learn and utilize CPI techniques safely and effectively.  Must be able to work as a part of a cohesive team and engage in peer education.  Prefer phlebotomy skills and psychiatric experience.

 

CPI training required within 30 days of hire.

 

This is a 36 hours per week; 12-hour rotating shifts; with occasional weekend commitment.  Great benefit package available.

 

 

  

 

Qualifications

Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing and one (1) year of nursing experience. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.

 

Requires licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Current Healthcare Provider or BLS Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
