 Summary:

The Shared Services Center (SSC) facility is an innovative design supporting current and future UNC Health Care System (UNCHCS) patient care and service areas, providing integrated and standardized services while leveraging system scale, driving meaningful cost efficiencies, and reducing quality variation in an environment of transparent communication and accountability. The Clinical Manager, Pharmacy Supply Chain Management will lead the operational decision-making and improvements in patient care for the pharmacy supply chain. The Clinical Manager, Pharmacy Supply Chain Management will focus on the coordination of departmental operational and clinical initiatives, as well as implementing financial and operational plans in pharmacy supply chain.

 Responsibilities:

1.Overseeing operations of the pharmacy supply management team at the shared services center, including barcoding and repackaging operations, automated dispensing cabinet replenishment, low unit of measure order fulfillment, RFID code tray replenishment, logistics, and inventory utilization optimization

2.Overseeing operations of the compounding services team including batch production of sterile intravenous products, maintenance of USP<795>, USP797> and USP<800> standards, and IV room sterilization service

3.Ensuring compliance with federal, state, local and institutional policies, procedures, standards and regulations

4.Participating in the development technology strategy and lead execution of strategic initiatives which support efficiency, growth, and quality metrics of operations at the SSC

5.Participating in the development of strategies and lead execution on strategic initiatives which provide value to the Health Care System through centralized medication supply management services

6.Assisting in the development and set up of new inventory locations and serving as the inventory management system content expert

7.Ensuring up-to-date policies and procedures are implemented and followed

8.Building and maintaining strategic relationships with system pharmacy leadership, shared services center leadership, and strategic supply partners

9.Proactively seeking opportunities to improve performance and customer satisfaction and implements processes to minimize waste; serving as a point of escalation for customers

10.Providing experiential instruction to UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy students and UNCMC PGY1/2 pharmacy residents

11.Participating as an active member in all pertinent committees

12.Supporting the development of budgets and financial stewardship goals; monitors financial and productivity performance and addresses variances

13.Demonstrating clinical or operational expertise through publications, presentations, committee activities, and/or program development related to improvement of patient care and advancement of pharmacy practice

Education Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in NC. Licensure from NC Board of Pharmacy required within 6 months of orientation date or sooner if required for operations.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Three years pharmacist experience or equivalent required.
