The Administrative Coordinator will work in the Surgical Oncology Division in the Department of Surgery as an administrative professional and will serve as primary assistant to the Division Chief in Surgical Oncology by providing administrative and clerical support. Candidate will support several providers of Surgical Oncology as well as Advanced Practice providers.

Duties include processing expense reports, meeting minutes, screening calls, and visitors and possibly making patient appointments. The candidate should possess excellent writing and editing skills. Responsible for scheduling calendar commitments, arranging meetings, conferences and travel. Maintain confidential information, respond to emails as instructed in a timely and efficient manner. This position will work closely with system leadership as well as lending support for various national organizations and committees.

This position will be backup for scheduling Operating Room cases with patients, once prior approval of the surgery is received. Previous experience and knowledge of Epic is preferred as the position will use the system daily.

The selected candidate must be well organized with high attention to detail, customer-service oriented, and have the ability to multi-task. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. Experience in professional writing and editing preferred.

This individual must possess project management skills and must be able to work independently in order to complete tasks and duties with prescribed timelines. Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) are strongly preferred. Good judgement and demonstrated tact and diplomacy are very important.
