Summary:
This position is responsible for providing project management support to programs aimed at ensuring equity across UNC Health. Responsible for directing, organizing and controlling project activities for the Office of Health Equity (OHE), under the direction of a Project Manager or Director. Responsible for to researching possible health equity concerns and solutions, handling data collection, and updating databases and tools. 

Responsibilities:

1. Provides health equity research support to Managers and Director, including conducting literature searches and contributing to writing of reports, articles, drafting presentations and other resources created by the OHE. Conduct and synthesize information from meetings with various stakeholders and develop and disseminate reports on best practices to be shared with others. 

2. Assists Managers in developing a comprehensive workflow process for projects. Reviews project proposal and deliverables with stakeholders to determine proper lead time, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project. 

3. Maintains communication with project members to assure timely and efficient completion of jobs, proper communication of issues, and proper documentation of the entire process. 

4. Monitors and modifies project schedule as assigned. Maintain document control, database management, track project activities and team communication. Assists Manger in strategic meetings and follow up with meeting notes. 

5. Schedules project follow up meetings as needed. Develops and publishes communications to project shareholders. Develops and reviews project status and reports.

Education Requirements:
● Associate's degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● If an Associate's degree, three (3) years of experience in an administrative support role and/or projects-related role. If a high school diploma/GED, seven (7) years of experience in an administrative support role and/or projects-related role.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

  • Familiarity with health equity concepts (e.g. health disparities, health inequities, Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), etc.)
  • Experience providing research support (e.g. conducting literature searches, grant writing, synthesizing information, etc.)
