Come join a well-establish practice! The practice quickly grew to 4 locations, 15 pediatricians (2 pediatric hospitalist and the rest of the team is practicing outpatient medicine), 10 APPs and 80+ employees.
Goldsboro Pediatrics makes it their mission to optimize the growth and development of children in order to ensure their success as healthy, happy, and productive adults in tomorrow’s society. Their physicians and providers have trained at some of the leading pediatric programs in the country and have more than 200+ years of combined medical experience.
As a leader in pediatric care, Goldsboro Pediatrics is involved in national and statewide projects which help to improve the healthcare of all children. Dr. Tayloe is a prior National President of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and Dr. Ponzi helped to establish Medicaid Managed Care in North Carolina.
Goldsboro Pediatrics has four locations conveniently located in Goldsboro, Mt. Olive, Princeton, and LaGrange. The practice currently has 14 pediatricians (including 1 pediatric hospitalist), 9 APPs, and 80+ employees. The practice also has two new physicians arriving in August and September of 2021.
The Goldsboro office is the main office consisting of 20 exam rooms and is usually staff by 6 to 7 providers. The Goldsboro office also has a wing dedicated to behavioral health, staffed by a developmental psychologist and an LCSW.
The primary hospital in the community is Wayne Memorial-UNC located across the street from Goldsboro Pediatrics with 14 beds dedicated to pediatrics and has a Level 2 Nursery. Annual volumes includes approximately 500 pediatric admissions and 1,300 deliveries.
The incoming physician can expect to work 2 shifts per week (approximately 8 shifts per month) usually covering 2-3 weekend days per month and the rest being weekdays. Each 24-hour shift is covered by one pediatric hospitalist with back-up and ample subspecialty support. Typically, each hospitalist will be working one 24-hour shift followed by having 2 days off (never working multiple days in a row unless requested to do a whole weekend at one time). The average inpatient census ranges from 6-8 patients, but fluctuates depending on the time of the year.
During a 24-hour shift, the hospitalist will to come to the Goldsboro office (located across the street) around 4:00 PM to help close out the day for regularly scheduled patients. However; if there is an emergency or the hospitalist is occupied with a high or complicated census in the hospital, they are not required to assist in the Goldsboro office.
Overall, Goldsboro Pediatrics is looking for a hardworking, dedicated Pediatric Hospitalist who has a strong passion for providing quality care to join their collegial, patient focused practice.

• Annual CME allowance of $2,000 yr. 1, $2,500 yr. 2, $3,000 yr. 3
