This position is responsible in leading the development, implementation, and ongoing management of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs across UNC Health. The HCS Manager Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) conducts analysis and synthesizes findings into understandable implications, tactics, strategies, and next steps for leadership within and outside of the department. The DEI Manager develops and manages a portfolio of equity and inclusion initiatives for the healthcare system, including partnerships with third parties. The DEI Manager builds and leverages a strong external professional network to identify opportunities and potential partners and is responsible for department management responsibilities that may include but are not limited to methodology advancement, internal resource management, training, and development, and recruiting. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Program
• Develops and executes system-wide and community-based strategies to further Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusions (ODEI) strategic priorities. • Manages program activities that span across multiple system entities and departments in support of ODEI Goals and initiatives; including planning and administration, financial development, analytics development, monitoring and reporting program progress • Creates and maintains strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. • Ensures the completion of multiple projects to drive strategic diversity, equity, and inclusion goals • Assists in leading Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Programs with strong attention to strategy, implementation, and delegation
• Proactively assesses the need for change and obtains resources to implement change initiatives • Keeps abreast of market trends to drive innovation with the healthcare system • Communicates effectively and appropriately • Takes action to ensure that employees fully understand their roles, responsibilities and performance standards/expectations and provides ongoing feedback and support • Treats everyone in a manner that demonstrates fairness and consistency • Serves as a role model by demonstrating commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in organizational performance

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
Five (5) years of relevant experience (e.g., Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Human Resources, Strategy or Consulting) or two (2) years developing and leading diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven ability to lead complex project initiatives, develop and implement program strategies, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Understands and applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise
Preference will be given for the following: • Program management experience • Healthcare experience • Experience in diversity, equity, and Inclusion and Employee Resource Group management • Development and management of data tools • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and electronic learning tools (webinar, telepresence, electronic poling, etc.)
