Job Description


Cary Orthopaedics Spine Center is the Triangle region’s only dedicated orthopaedic spine practice. Our physicians range from experienced physiatrists who specialize in non-surgical treatment for neck and back pain to skilled surgeons who perform minimally invasive and complex spinal procedures. Cary Orthopaedics Spine Center has a full spectrum of spine specialists and physical therapists to deliver the highest quality of care. 

Cary Orthopaedics Spine Center is looking for a talented Interventional Physiatrist or Pain Management Neurologist/Anesthesiologist to provide comprehensive spine and musculoskeletal diagnosis and care. Our offices are located in one of the country’s top-rated areas for growth and lifestyle. The selected candidate will demonstrate a high level of knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and functional spine mechanics to accurately diagnose and facilitate the non-interventional recovery of patients with cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine disorders as well as general musculoskeletal joint dysfunction. 

Job Duties and responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and facilitate the non-interventional recovery of patients with cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine disorders as well as general musculoskeletal joint dysfunction 
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests relative to patient's specific need 
  • Office procedures including injections, and other non-surgical care
  • Work with Spine surgeons and Physical Therapy to deliver full range of care
  • Prescription management


  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of residency program 
  • Current valid North Carolina physician MD / DO medical license 
  • Board certification or eligibility with intent to certify required 
  • Must have a Pain Management Fellowship
  • Current DPS and DEA certificates (or in progress) 
  • 1+ year MD experience preferred. 
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Exceptional patient skills and experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and demands

Travel is required between office locations. We offer a competitive salary and benefit package. Salary is based on years of experience and industry standards, to be discussed and negotiated. 

This position is employed by UNC Physicians Network Group Practices, a private, for-profit subsidiary of UNC Health Care System.
