Manages programs and initiatives for the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer (CDEIO) and System Executive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council and related initiatives across the UNC Health system. Duties include: oversight of DEI and health equity (HE) strategic plans, coordination of work across DEI and HE offices, coordination of System Executive DEI Council, advancement of DEI/HE goals and initiatives, representation of CDEIO to multiple stakeholder groups, and other programs and projects as assigned to meet organizational needs.
This position reports directly to the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer.
Manages implementation of DEI/HE strategic plans, including quarterly reporting, working with goal champions to track progress, coordinating with strategy liaisons on annual initiatives planning. Initiates annual planning and design process.
Liases with DEI and HE goal champions from across the UNC Health System. Analyzes trends across the System in diversity, equity, and inclusion and health equity. Monitors the development of goals and initiatives to ensure they fit the objectives of the System Executive DEI Council and also align with the overall vision for DEI and health equity, as well as the UNC Health mission.
Serves as an advisor to the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer and manages special projects on their behalf.
Collaborates across departments of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Health Equity and with the the System Executive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council. Serves as administrative lead for the Council by:
Coordinates with other internal and external bodies to provide input on decisions when DEI and health equity expertise and perspective are needed. Advises on impact of decisions related to DEI, health equity, and specific populations of co-workers and patients, making recommendations when appropriate.
Represents the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer to the UNC Health DEI Office, UNC Health Equity Office, and School of Medicine DEI Office.
Leads and engages in other DEI programs/projects as assigned by the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer.
● Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (i.e. Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development).
● None required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Four (4) years of relevant, professional experience in Program Management and (4) years in one of the following: health equity or diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Demonstrated success in program management; Demonstrated ability to work independently or collaborate as part of a team; Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability; Proven organizational and problem solving skills; Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, and Excel, and electronic learning tools (webinar, telepresence, electronic poling, etc.); Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
