Description

Summary:
Administrative Fellows have concurrent exposure to hospital operations and corporate administration in an integrated comprehensive regional academic health care delivery system. Fellows are responsible for completing administrative projects in various areas such as governance, medical staff development, operations, managed care, ambulatory care, policy, finance, planning and marketing. Fellows work closely with the executive team throughout the system (i.e., hospital and corporate level).
Responsibilities:
1. Attends weekly Administrator's meetings.
2. Completes clinic site visits and attends various Administrative Medical Staff meetings.
3. Develops a program charter and timeline to follow throughout course of projects.
4. Completes special projects as delegated by preceptor and various administrators.
5. Organizes meetings with key staff and community partners that will provide support and guidance on assigned projects.
6. Enhances professional expertise by attending professional seminars and workshops.
7. Presents projects to administrative leaders on projects case and adheres to constructive feedback.
With this particular fellowship, students will work heavily with both executive leaders and physicians leaders. Fellows will work with leaders within UNCPN and across the system to build a strong business case and plan for their projects. Fellows with a passion for addressing health equity projects within the health system are encouraged to apply. Fellows should have a strong passion for engaging and meeting with key community partners and community members to help inform their project work.

4. Personal Statement – Introduce yourself in a one-page personal statement regarding what you hope to achieve from a fellowship at one of our sites and what draws you to that particular site.
5. Your essay answering ONE of the following three prompts in no more than 300 words:

● Actively pursuing a Master’s degree in a healthcare-related field with successful completion of Master's degree coursework.
