Gastroenterology Procedures & Clinic Virtual Hiring Event! | UNC Medical Center & UNC Eastowne 

October 26, 2021 | 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

UNC Health is excited to be hosting a virtual hiring event for our Gastroenterology service line!  We will be hiring experienced RNs, and Medical Assistant, Certified I & II's for our UNC Medical Center and UNC Eastowne locations in Chapel Hill. 

You will have the opportunity to interview virtually one-on-one with our Gastroenterology services hiring teams!

RN positions qualify for our UNC Hospitals RN Incentive Program, which includes up to $20,000 in commitment incentives or up to $25,000 in tuition loan forgiveness. In addition, this position is also eligible for up to $10,000 in relocation assistance (based on location) and our employee referral program. How do I Participate?

Step 2: Upon qualifications, review, and selection of your event application, our Talent Acquisition team will contact you directly regarding the RN opportunities and interview slots for the day of the event.

*To be considered for this virtual interview event, please select “Apply Now” to submit your event application. Qualified applicants will be reached via phone to conduct an initial phone screening and virtual interviews will be scheduled on an invite slot basis. Interviews will be scheduled to take place on October 26, 2021 between 2pm - 5pm. The last day to apply for this event will be October 22, 2021.


How do I qualify as an RN?

Education Requirements:

  • Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
  • If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification

Professional Experience Requirements:

    • One (1) year of nursing experience.


    How do I qualify as an MA, Certified?

    Education Requirements: 

    • Requires high school diploma or GED. 
    • Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by either the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is strongly preferred but not required. 

    Licensure/Certification Requirements: 

    • Requires Medical Assistant certification by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA). 
    • Prefer candidates with current Basic Life Support Certification from American Heart Association at the time of hire. If selected candidate does not possess BLS, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire. 

    Professional Experience Requirements: 

    • Prior medical assistant or medical assistant externship experience preferred.
