Summary:

The position is responsible for driving operational success, optimizing performance, and developing ongoing access improvement strategies in response to ever changing market forces. primary area of responsibility will be overseeing the System Outpatient Access Center, which includes outpatient clinic scheduling and capacity management, professional relations/patient navigation support, clinical nurse triage, quality assurance, and business development/management of internal and external revenue-producing service contracts. 

Responsibilities:
1. Outpatient Access Center - Responsible for developing, expanding, leading and supervising the new UNC Health Care System’s Outpatient Access Center (OAC), which is comprised of multiple clinical and non-clinical teams dedicated to providing a seamless, and frictionless access to care experience for patients, employees and providers. Responsible for staying up to date on access innovations, and imparting that knowledge and expectation on the leadership teams within the OAC. This position is also responsible for and held accountable to maintaining Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Standards, and Performance Metrics, in addition to meeting the large scale access-related organizational goals that span all UNC Health Entities. This position must communicate and collaborate regularly with the System Leaders, and other Entity Executives to maintain accountability to and improvement of access to care. Supports projects across the health care system as needed. Serves as the lead on communication and face of the Outpatient Access Center, working with stakeholders as needed to meet business imperatives and goals.

4. Results Driven - Exceeds departmental and organizational goals and customer expectations. Understands the overall financial performance of the organization and applies financial concepts and practices to establish and maintain realistic budgets. Uses financial information to monitor overall financial status of operations.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Information Technology, Finance, Business, Hospital Administration, Nursing or related field.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Ten (10) years of related experience, with at least seven (7) years of management experience in the healthcare industry performing duties related to care access, referrals management, scheduling/capacity analysis and telehealth including planning, reporting and controls, compliance, and implementations.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Understands and appropriately applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise.
