Summary:
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (SBIA) provides intermediate-level insight-driven clinical, operational analyses to enhance and inform organizational decision-making & assess the impact of virtual care solutions, programs and services.. The SBIA is an analytics professional who leads reporting and data visualization development in partnership with stakeholders and analytics teams. Data Governance Stewardship role commitments are expected.
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst has intermediate proficiency in SQL and data visualization software. The SBIA is well versed in stakeholder requirements gathering and presentation skills. This position’s responsibilities include analytics, display of data in user-friendly formats, scorecard and dashboard development and maintenance reporting, and trusted analytics content that is consumed by other analysts or stakeholders. Data Governance Stewardship role commitments are expected. The ideal candidate will demonstrate passion for care transformation and a level of curiosity to better understand virtual care’s impact.
Responsibilities:
1. Virtual Care data administration and strategy: Contributes to virtual care reporting and analytics strategy. Plans and coordinates reporting and analytics related activities for virtual care.
2. Communication, presentation, requirements gathering and relationships: The SBIA acts as a key Business Intelligence & Analytics liaison between enterprise/entity leadership, physician leadership, other clinical leaders, ISD and other stakeholders. They ensure a tight linkage between virtual care efforts and the organizational goals. They serve as a guide of the organization's business intelligence priorities to internal constituents through formal and informal communications. The SBIA develops concise, insightful, and politically savvy communications. These are often in PowerPoint, but also in email and verbally via committee meetings, staff meetings, and working sessions.
3. Dashboard and scorecard development: The SBIA leads the development of key performance indicators, management dashboards and balanced scorecards that provide enhanced insight and improve organizational decision-making. Data is displayed in a meaningful and actionable way to convey concise, easy to understand information on all virtual care solutions, programs and services.
4. Healthcare analytics: The SBIA provides healthcare analytics support (e.g., statistical analysis, data and text mining, data validation, prescriptive analysis) to generate insights for virtual care solutions, programs and services that can be transformed into action and include a broad set of tools, processes, technologies, and stakeholders for collecting, integrating, accessing, and analyzing information. Working with peers and others continually evaluates data needs, assist with efforts to collect data, report data, analyze data and improve program. Develops and provides meaningful reports and analysis for health care system entities. Works to address requests for data reporting and analytics requests.
5. Mentorship, training, and liaison to Central Analytics: The SBIA provides mentorship and training in both the analytical technique and quality of work by the BIAs and others on the Virtual Care data team. They will also be a trusted business intelligence advisor and support ad hoc training for other analysts throughout the organization. The SBIA may have direct reports and perform necessary HR functions associated with managing staff such as time and attendance, corrective action and performance reviews. Additionally, the SBIA is a liaison to central analytics, engaging in portfolio reviews as needed.
6. Project management: The SBIA demonstrates efficient project management to clearly define projects, develop project plans, and set priorities for working teams.
7. Continual Learning: Keeps abreast of external program metrics including frameworks for virtual care data reporting and requirements.
Education Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● If Bachelor's degree in general degree, four (4) years of experience
● If Bachelor's degree in STEM field (Engineering, Math, Analytics, Computer Science), requires two (2) years of experience
● If Master's degree, requires two (2) years of experience
● If PhD, requires no years of experience
● If Associates, requires ten (10) years of experience
● If High School degree, requires thirteen (13) years of experience
