UNC Physicians Network –  UNC Family Medicine at Blue Ridge  is actively hiring dedicated, compassionate, and empathetic Care Partners for our outpatient clinics across North Carolina!

This is an interest requisition. If you’re a Medical Assistant, Certified / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or a Physician Practice Nurse (RN) interested in joining us at UNC Family Medicine at Blue Ridge, please submit your application to this position. About UNC Family Medicine at Blue Ridge:

  • We are a large Family Medicine practice with 8-9 providers and presently around 8 clinical staff. In addition, we offer lab and dietitian services on site.
  • Our clinic is located in Raleigh near UNC Rex Hospital; a convenient access off 440 and 40 located at the corner of Lake Boone Trail and Blue Ridge Road.
  • Clinic days/hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-500 pm, although clinical hours vary depending on provider schedule. 4-5 Extra hours available on Saturdays and Sundays if interested.
  • Typical work schedules are: 8 hour shifts with 1 hour lunches Monday-Friday.

Our ideal candidate has experience in family practice and EPIC EHR. Ability to multitask is an absolute must as we are an extremely busy 8-9 provider practice. Great Customer Service, team player and can-do attitude is also a must to succeed in role.

Job Duties at our practice include but not limited to:

  • Rooming patients
  • Obtaining vital signs, current medications and allergies, health history, family history, and social history
  • Ensuring all overdue Health Maintenance items are addressed at time of visit
  • Communicating messages between patients and providers regarding patient advise, patient lab results, patient medications, etc.
  • Cleaning and stocking of exam rooms and equipment
  • Administering Vaccine/Medication for patients of all age groups
  • Assist with procedures

    Qualifications:

    Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

    • Requires graduation from a state accredited program of practical nurse education including a pharmacology course (or completion of an approved pharmacology course upon graduation) which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed for the administration of medications required by the work setting.
    • Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in the applicable state (NC or VA).
    • No prior experience required.

    Medical Assistant, Certified:

    • Requires high school diploma or GED.
    • Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by either the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is strongly preferred but not required.
    • Requires Medical Assistant certification by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA).
    • Basic Life Support Certification from American Heart Association required.
    • Prior medical assistant or medical assistant externship experience preferred.

    Physician Practice Nurse (RN):

    • Diploma, Associate Degree (ADN) or Bachelors Degree (BSN) from an accredited school of Nursing.
    • Licensed to practice as Registered Nurse in North Carolina. BCLS.
    • Previous experience in physician office, urgent care, emergency department preferred.
    • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information and technical procedures. Ability to document clinical information. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from patients, physicians, family members, and other Rex staff. Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
