Summary:

The Business Practice Improvement Manager is responsible for overseeing daily activities associated with one or more medium to large-scale projects at UNC Medical Center. Projects can range from implementing new structures, to designing new processes, to assessing and improving the efficiency of core business functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops the project execution strategy, supporting business case and various high-level stakeholder and project management plans required to achieve desired outcomes. 
  • Represents Clinical Operations Support within the UNC Medical Center community and ensures continual focus on achieving desired project outcomes. 
  • Works within the Clinical Operations Support structure and interface daily with stakeholders from UNC Hospitals, and others as needed to successfully define, plan, execute, and deliver desired outcomes. 
  • Works collaboratively with a variety of departments, administrative leaders / teams, groups or physicians, clinicians and executives to achieve desired outcomes while maintaining a culture of high performance. 
  • Works within a team of project managers to achieve strategic objectives and goals set by the UNC Hospitals Executive Team.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

  • Proven ability to lead complex project initiatives, including the ability to lead key elements of multifunction teams. 
  • Knowledge of project and change management techniques and tools 
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, including facilitation and presentation skills 
  • Proven ability to excel and achieve results in a team-oriented, matrixed environment 
  • Highly responsive to internal customers

Education Requirements:
● Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Science or Health Care-related field
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Five (5) years of management consulting, business process improvement design and implementation, project management or related business experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
● If an Associate's degree: 9 years of experience.
● If a High School diploma or GED: 13 years of experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Proven ability to lead complex project initiatives, including the ability to lead key elements of multifunction teams. ? Knowledge of project and change management techniques and tools ?
