This position may involve support of various hospitals and health care systems within the UNC Health Care System, but will be employed by Rex Hospital, Inc. (this includes, but is not limited to, for purposes of payroll, health benefits, retirement options, and applicable policies).

Summary:
Manages ISD’s system affiliation and integration projects. Also responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with the health system's strategy, commitments and goals. Experience seasoned professional with the ability to interface with project teams to drive high performance with effective project plans ensuring they are completed with minimal disruption to patient care, existing priorities and administrative activities. This individual will work collaboratively with a variety of entities, administrative individuals, teams, clinicians and executives.


Responsibilities:
 1. Manages ISD Shared Services evaluation projects when ISD starts the process to integrate newly affiliated or managed entities. Performs project management tasks and prepares necessary documents to facilitate key ISD Shared Services evaluation project milestones such as comprehensive data collection, discovery, future state mapping, cost estimation and evaluation report preparation. 

2. Handles confidential information with sensitivity and discretion in accordance with Privacy and Health Care System’s requirements. 

3. Acquires the necessary resources in partnership with resource owners to fulfill the planned project roles / responsibilities and activities. Manages all internal and external project resources to ensure that project scope is delivered on time, on schedule, within the approved project budget, and with a high degree of quality. 

4. Closes the project by ensuring all scoped deliverables are accepted, project documentation is stored, and project resources are released. 

5. Develops and manages the project scope and objectives, high-level timeline, and cost estimate with the project sponsor and other key stakeholders and establishes the overall project management approach. In addition, develops and manages the consolidated project plan including detailed schedule (with critical path), cost estimate, roles/responsibilities, communications, and risks. 

6. Engages and works collaboratively with the project team continuously and periodically reports project status to all key project stakeholders as well as IT Management. 

7 . Provides project management mentoring, coaching, and support to less experienced team members as well as all health system employees and contractors as necessary or appropriate.

Education Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● If a Bachelor's degree: Five (5) years of experience in project management.
● If an Associate's degree: Nine (9) years of experience in project management.
● If a High School diploma or GED: Thirteen (13) years of experience in project management.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

  • Project Management: Proven ability to lead complex project initiatives, develop and implement project plans and program strategies, and manage multiple projects / tasks simultaneously is required 
  • Detail-oriented: Proven ability to manage, organize, coordinate and complete projects and tasks in a very complex and fast-paced healthcare IT environment is preferred 
  • Accountability: Demonstrates the ability to bring projects to successful completion on time, within the approved project scope and budget, with a high degree of quality and through political sensitivity 
  • Communication: Superb communication skills are highly preferred 
    • Demonstrates the ability to tailor the message to the audience 
    • Understands how to communicate difficult /sensitive information tactfully 
    • Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict 
    • Finds agreement on issues and follows through on implementation 
  • Documentation: 
    • Demonstrates meticulous documentation skills with expertise in Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, Project, Excel, etc. 
  • Teamwork: Demonstrates the ability to work well in a team environment and be a a strong team player who works collaboratively with peers, customers and senior executives 
  • Customer Service Excellence: 
    • Demonstrates the ability to be highly responsive to internal and external customers 
    • Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships 
  • Coachability: Receptiveness to feedback, willingness to learn and embrace continuous improvement preferred 
  • Critical Thinking: Superb analytical and problem solving skills preferred 
  • Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
