Summary:
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (SBIA), Health Equity is an analytics professional who leads reporting and data visualization development for the Office of Health Equity (OHE), in partnership with stakeholders and analytics teams. The SBIA provides intermediate-level insight-driven analyses and insights that enhance organizational decision-making to ensure equity across UNC Health. Responsibilities include building dashboards, reporting, and trusted analytics content that is consumed by other analysts or stakeholders in alignment with the office’s overall strategy and goals.
The SBIA has intermediate proficiency in SQL and data visualization software and may have limited proficiency in R, Python, or other statistical software. The SBIA is well versed in stakeholder requirements gathering and presentation skills.
Responsibilities:
Communication, Presentation, Requirements Gathering And Relationships - Act a key Business Intelligence & Analytics leader and liaison between hospital leadership, physician leadership, other clinical leaders, ISD and other stakeholders. Ensure a tight linkage between the office's efforts and the organizational goals. Serve as a guide of the organization's business intelligence priorities to internal constituents through formal and informal communications. Develop concise, insightful, and politically savvy communications. Often in PowerPoint, but also email and verbally via committee meetings, staff meetings, and working sessions.
Dashboard And Scorecard Development - Lead development of effective key performance indicators, management dashboards and balanced scorecards that provide enhanced insight and improve organizational decision-making.
Healthcare Analytics - Provide healthcare analytics support (financial, clinical & operational analytics) to generate insights that can be transformed into action and include a broad set of tools, processes, technologies, and stakeholders for collecting, integrating, accessing, and analyzing information.
Mentorship, Training, And Liaison To Central Analytics – Serve as analytic content expert for health equity topics and provide mentorship and training for the broader analytics community. Be a trusted business intelligence advisor and support ad hoc training for other analysts throughout the organization.
Project Management - Demonstrates efficient project management to clearly define projects, develop project plans, and set priorities for working teams.

● Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● If Bachelor's degree in general degree, four (4) years of experience
● If Bachelor's degree in STEM field (Engineering, Math, Analytics, Computer Science), requires two (2) years of experience
● If Master's degree, requires two (2) years of experience
● If PhD, requires no years of experience
● If Associates, requires ten (10) years of experience
● If High School degree, requires thirteen (13) years of experience
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
- SQL and Data Viz software intermediate proficiency
- Understands the importance and has intermediate proficiency with leveraging existing reusable data sources for visualizations and analytics before creating their own. When creating new assets they have the ability to make it reusable.
- Stakeholder requirements gathering and presentation skills required
- R/Python (other stat software) limited proficiency preferred
