Job Summary:
The Chief Nursing Officer is accountable for all aspects of Nursing Services to include responsibility for the provision of care to all patients admitted to Onslow Memorial Hospital. The Chief Nursing Officer executes leadership and professional work in planning, budgeting, organizing, and supervising activities in the Nursing division; establishes policies, procedures, standards, and objectives for the provision of services; and strives to improve organizational performance through continuous assessment and evaluation.

Education:
Graduation from an accredited school with a Bachelors and Master’s degree required; one degree must be in nursing.
Experience:
10+ years of increasingly responsible nursing or other leadership roles with significant operational experience (e.g., CNO, associate CNO, VP of Operations, other executive leader). Experience functioning both as a member and as a leader of a multi-disciplinary team in tackling issues of quality, patient safety, patient satisfaction, and resource allocation. Profound ability to develop and implement organization-wide patient care programs, policies and procedures that describe how patient’s nursing care needs are assessed, evaluated and met. Financial and Business Acumen demonstrated by the successful development and management of annual budgets reflecting staffing, capital and other operating expenses.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations:
Current, unencumbered North Carolina or compact state RN license. Certification in professional organization, such as AONE or ACHE.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills essential. Knowledge of current patient care delivery strategies, evidence based practice and quality improvement concepts required.
