Summary:
Responsible for supporting, directing, and organizing projects and initiatives directly tied to the UNC School of Medicine missions. Successful candidates will have a solid understanding of the operations, strategies, and goals of the system and will be able to manage the numerous ongoing and sometimes competing priorities of assigned team(s). Position serves as primary administrator for members of the School of Medicine senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Managing administrative and logistical tasks including maintenance of daily calendars and ensuring that time is allocated to the highest-priority tasks.
- Drafting and editing correspondence that is often sensitive and confidential.
- Performs and/or oversee a wide range of special projects or assignments that are highly sensitive, confidential, and/or complex in nature, requiring a high level of independence and initiative in execution and implementation.
- Makes high-level contacts of a sensitive nature regarding routine and non-routine issues internally and externally requiring a high degree of discretion, diplomacy, and time sensitivity. Understands the broader goals and priorities of the leader, in order to prioritize issues according to urgency.
- Providing logistical support for meetings, conference calls, and events. Managing meeting and event invitations and confirming attendance.
- Preparing select meeting materials, such as agendas, presentations, notes, action items, and reports. Securing meeting locations (in person, virtual, or hybrid) and supporting other logistics as needed.
- Prepare and edit presentations.
- Coordinate meetings, including registrations, travel arrangements and expense reports.
- Serving as a key point of contact and ensuring effective communication between the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Medicine Leadership, Department Chairs, and other key stakeholders.
- Contributing to consistent, integrated, and mission-aligned communications.
- Other tasks as requested.

- If an Associate's degree, three (3) years of experience in an administrative support role and/or projects-related role. If a high school diploma/GED, seven (7) years of experience in an administrative support role and/or projects-related role.
