Description

Summary:
The Pediatrics Fellowship Coordinator will work within the Pediatric Education office and work closely with the UNC GME office, Program Directors and the Central Administration office to coordinate the recruitment, onboarding, and compliance for Pediatric subspecialty fellowship programs including Pulmonary, Critical Care Medicine, Hematology/Oncology, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Gastroenterology, Neonatology, Allergy/Immunology and Medical Genetics.
Responsibilities include:
Manage the day-to-day GME operations of fellowship programs within Pediatrics: serve as liaison to the UNC Graduate Medical Education Office; coordinate the credentialing process of all fellows; oversee the residency management system (MedHub) for each fellowship including but not limited to: developing and disseminating evaluations, running duty hour reports, inputting fellows’ schedules, and running leave and PTO reports.
Assist with planning and scheduling all training events: centralized Orientation for new fellows, Core Curriculum Day, bi-weekly seminar series, and Day of Scholarship.
Oversee data management including but not limited to: routine maintenance of webpages for each fellowship, research opportunity database, graduate database and GME Track data entry.
Oversee ACGME Compliance: assist with data collection for the Accreditation Data System; assist with Self Study and Site Visit preparation; participate in ACGME mandated committees for each fellowship, such as Clinical Competency Committee and Pediatric Education Committee; assist with Annual Program Evaluations for each fellowship; assist with Scholarship Oversight Committee meetings for each fellow.
Recruitment: have knowledge of the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) for each subspecialty training program; meet with applicants from some programs on their interview day.
It is essential the selected candidate possess: recent administrative experience (within 3 years) in a large, diverse clinical- academic setting; experience with office operations, computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and a demonstrated ability to work independently. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are required for the role to function as part of a team and for ongoing customer satisfaction. The role requires an organized, detail-oriented, and flexible individual, capable of managing competing priorities and projects. Knowledge of medical education is a plus.
