Job Summary:
The UNC Health Alliance Strategy Analyst, Opportunity Development is responsible for supporting assigned strategic initiatives and business development opportunities. The Strategy Analyst will utilize their strategic analytical skills, as well as their knowledge of the healthcare delivery system and alternative payment models, to evaluate opportunities and provide thoughtful business recommendations in support of value-based contracting and strategic planning. The successful candidate will be expected to understand, interpret and present complex information in a clear and concise manner to various audiences. The Strategy Analyst must have outstanding written and oral communication skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel.
Description of Job Responsibilities:
Business Development and Strategic Initiatives – Supports the pursuit and evaluation of new value-based care programs and other strategic initiatives by conducting financial, quality and market analyses to make recommendations to leadership about the implications of program and market development investments.
Problem Solving – Analyzes and generates understanding of complex issues and communicates requests for advanced analytical reports that answer key business questions. Actively reviews program performance, as well as claims, payer, and internal data sources to understand network and financial performance. Identifies potential business development opportunities and develops data-driven hypotheses and recommendations for further evaluation, executive consideration, projects, or services.
Communication and Relationships – Presents complex data and summaries of findings to Opportunity Development leadership and other stakeholders to inform business decisions and strategy. Establishes and maintains positive, ongoing relationships with internal and external organizations and partners that advance strategic relationships of UNC Health Alliance.
Analytics – Performs detailed analytics and financial modeling, which may include leveraging internal or external financial, claims, operational and/or market data, and is able to summarize into key insights for leadership.

Education Requirements:
● Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; MBA, MHA, or MPH with experience in healthcare planning or financial analysis is preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:

● With a Master's Degree, two (2) years of related experience and/or training.
● With a Bachelor's Degree, six (6) years of related experience and/or training.
