The Senior Cytogenetic Technologist processes clinical specimens from patients who are referred for cancer or constitutional cytogenetic diagnosis. The processing responsibilities include accessioning specimens into the laboratory, tissue culture set-up, harvesting or preparing the cells for analysis, slide preparation and staining, microscope analysis, imaging, cell karyotyping and preparation of diagnostic result reports. Candidates with a comprehensive knowledge of cancer cytogenetics and/or chromosomal microarray (CMA) experience are highly preferred.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm
● Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biological science
● CG (ASCP) Board of Certification required
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a chemistry or biological science and completion of a NACCLS accredited Cytogenetics program or completion of a Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Genetic Sciences, CG (ASCP) Board of Certification required, two (2) years of experience required.
● Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a chemistry or biological science, CG (ASCP) Board of Certification required, three (3) years of experience required.
