RN Care Manager Virtual Drop-in Hiring Event | UNC Hospitals

Tuesday, June 21, 2022 | 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Drop-in on June 21 to discuss RN Care Manager opportunities and meet with our managers! We're hiring several in-person RN Care Managers to join our teams at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, including:

  • Adult Inpatient Medicine 
  • Emergency Department
  • Oncology
  • Pediatrics
  • Surgery/Heart & Vascular

Positions are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Some positions may require 1-2 weekend shifts per quarter.

RN Care Manager Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to provide ongoing support and expertise through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and overall evaluation of individual patient needs. The overall goal of the position is to enhance the quality of patient management and satisfaction, to promote continuity of care and cost effectiveness through the integrating and functions of case management, utilization review and discharge planning. The Care Manager must be highly organized professional with great attention to detail, adaptable to frequent change, and compliant with regulatory and departmental guidelines and policies.


Qualifications for RN Care Manager:

  • Graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
  • If hired after October 1, 2015 must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date. 
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
  • Two (2) years of health care experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
