Job Summary:
This position holds the working title CHRO - UNC Hospitals and reports to the System Chief Human Resource Officer. The CHRO - UNC Hospitals serves in a leadership role to oversee the HR Business Partners. They are responsible for leading the HR Business Partners with full accountability of the deployment of UNC Health’s HR strategy and alignment across all entities. This position will partner with the System CHRO to provide HR strategic support and execution. The CHRO - UNC Hospitals works with executives and other leaders in the client organization to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives designed to enhance organization effectiveness. The CHRO will have direct reports to support the human resource business needs of the organization.
Description of Job Responsibilities:
Lead responsibility for the HR/people management aspects of corporate initiatives and projects. Act as a consultant and advisor to leaders, HR business partners and employees on HR-related issues/opportunities, company culture, and organizational effectiveness.
Developing effective working relationships. Provide expert advice and coaching to leaders and employees as appropriate. Equip people managers with tools and knowledge to effectively manage their teams in alignment with organizational plans.
Recommends changes to policies and procedures and establishes appropriate programs for effective management of the people resources of the corporation in accordance with established policies and procedures; included in this area but not limited only to the following would be programs for employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education and career development.
Analyzes human resources data and provides recommendations to the organization’s leaders around turnover, workforce engagement, etc.
Actively promote cultural change and support new ways of working and continuous improvement within HR to provide a high quality, professional, consistent, and cohesive HR service. This includes: working collaboratively and communicating proactively; understanding the needs of, and eliciting and monitoring feedback from, our customers and stakeholders; and identifying and delivering developments and innovations to enhance service delivery and customers’ experience.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline.
Professional Experience Requirements:
Seven (7) years of experience in Human Resources, with at least five (5) years experience as a HR Business Partner or an equivalent role.
