Description

Summary:
This position assists and supports the Healthcare Preparedness Coordinator (HPC) in completion and execution of emergency planning, response and recovery initiatives and related grant activities within the region and state. Grant guidelines may dictate additional duties and responsibilities as outlined in the scope of work for the associated grant cycle. The assistant coordinator often works independently and may serve as the HPC in his or her absence.
Responsibilities:
1. Administrative duties related to management of Mid Carolina HCC grant initiatives and projects (communication, records creation and management, scheduling and other duties as they are identified). Communication with the NC Office of EMS and regional partners regarding emergency preparedness and operational needs. Assists in review and/or creation of grant projects, plans, and other documents in accordance with annual work plan directives or other program guidance.
2. Logistical management of supplies and equipment for Mid Carolina Response and Recovery Teams and regional or state partners. Assist to acquire, develop, deploy, manage, and recover mission-ready packages during disasters or major events. Deploys with the State Medical Assistance Team or Medical Reserve Corps when necessary and assists in coordination of deployment with local, regional, or state partners.
3. Monitor project budgets as necessary in accordance with grant requirements (purchasing, budget variances, grant draw downs and reimbursement processing). Work with HCC staff and healthcare partners to identify and monitor the needs of their respective programs in anticipation of project development. Adhere to monthly progress reporting requirements related to activities and expenses.
4. Assess, organize, equip, train, and evaluate preparedness, response and recovery capabilities to include conducting hazard vulnerability analyses of local and regional partners. Conduct or assist with the delivery of training, education or exercises to address identified gaps and meet established performance measures. Assists in coordination of deployment of response and recovery teams to areas within the State of NC and neighboring states in the southeast U.S.

● No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Two (2) years of experience in emergency services, disaster planning or related field.
