Care Management Incentive Program

Incentives are applicable to UNC Medical Center, UNC Hillsborough Hospital, and Youth Behavioral Health Hospital.

Eligibility Requirement:

  • RN Care Manager or Manager of Care Management; must have at least 12 months or more of experience
  • Employed full-time; scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week
  • Not currently employed, or employed within the previous 12 months at any UNC Health system owned entity.
  • Teammate must remain in good standing throughout their commitment period. If the teammate receives a final written warning, the incentive will be discontinued.
  • Per diem and traveler/contract teammates that transfer to a full-time position (30+ hrs/wk) will be eligible for the commitment incentive in approved areas.

Incentive Expectations:

  • Teammate must be in active status at the time of installment payment; otherwise, the payment will be cancelled. Remaining installment payments may resume upon the employee's return to active status.
  • The work commitment is to the owned UNC Health entity where initially hired.
  • Teammate may be allowed to transfer and maintain the incentive if the receiving department is eligible, within the same owned entity, and approved by the accepting manager/director.

Eligible Positions:  

  • RN Care Manager
  • Manager, Care Management

Incentives Offered:

  • Sign-On Bonus – $5,000 will be offered as a sign-on bonus and paid within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
  • Commitment Incentive – Up to $10,000 may be offered and spread over a two (2) year commitment period. Payment will be provided in three (3) equal installments to the new teammate after their six (6) month, twelve (12) month, and twenty-four (24) month of work is completed.

              - Effective for offers on and after 11/17/2023.

              - Ends – TBD and re-evaluated by administration.

  • Relocation Assistance - Up to $10,000 may be offered (amount based on location). Questions regarding relocation should be directed to your recruiter.
  • Employee Referrals - Current teammate will receive $3,000 for referring a qualified and hired RN candidate. Payment is made in two equal installments. First payment is at 6 months after the new hire start date, and second payment is at one year completion. Learn more here!
