The information in the following sections describes specific sign-on and retention incentives available to aid in efforts to recruit and retain a qualified, motivated, and talented Congenital Heart and Operating Room clinical staff. The recruitment incentive options establish a standardized and consistent approach across UNC Health that is reviewed and approved by Administration and Human Resources leadership.
Positions that qualify:
*Qualifying hires at Chapel Hill main campus are eligible for ONLY ONE of the incentives listed below. Either the sign-on and commitment or tuition loan assistance.
* Qualifying hires at Hillsborough campus ONLY qualify for the sign-on and commitment incentive. Tuition loan assistance is not applicable to the Hillsborough campus.
Pediatric Congenital Heart Program Sign-on and Commitment Incentive (Chapel Hill main campus)
Adult Operating Room, Children's Operating Room, and Hillsborough Campus Operating Room Sign-on and Commitment Incentive
Payment Schedule for all positions:
The Commitment incentive will be paid over a three (3)-year period, beginning at six (6) months from the start date, and every six (6) months through the employee's third-anniversary date following the schedule below:
*Payment will be treated as taxable income and directly deposited in your paycheck.
Tuition Loan Assistance (All experienced RN's for Chapel Hill main campus and only Surgical Technologists within the Pediatric Congenital Heart Program)
Up to $25,000 may be offered to defray the cost of tuition loans for a previously earned pre-licensure nursing degree or Surgical Technologist program. The amount offered is based on proof of outstanding loan at the time an offer of eligible employment is accepted. Once qualified for Tuition Loan Assistance, no further proof of outstanding loan is required. Tuition loan assistance will be paid in six (6) equal installments beginning at six (6) months from the employee's start date, and will continue to be paid every six (6) months through the employee's third-anniversary date. Payment will be treated as taxable income and directly deposited in your paycheck.
