Employee Referral Program

***IMPORTANT NOTICE***: Due to the recent switch in our HR and application systems, our HR team is working hard towards implementing a new and improved, mobile-friendly Employee Referral solution expected to launch this Summer. In the interim, we ask that you review the referral guidelines, "How to Refer" section below,  and the applicable positions by the entity, then submit your employee referral by filling out this form. Please ensure that you submit your referral before your referral has applied. Thank you for your patience during this transition.

*Current employees are required to submit their referral before the referral applies.

*Employees can only refer from within their payroll entity. Example: a current NC Health employee can refer to another NC Health job. A State employee can refer to another State job.

UNC Health has an employee referral program to reward current UNC Health employees who refer qualified external applicants for specific positions and who meet the referral guidelines.

UNC Health values the participation of our employees in the recruiting efforts of highly qualified individuals who fit our organization.

How do I refer?

Step 1: Review the employee referral eligibility at the bottom of this page and list of participating UNC Health entities.

Step 2: Select an entity listed below and review the entity-specific referral guidelines and applicable positions. *(please read the guidelines in full)

Step 3: Submit your referral by filling out the referral form. *(Ensure you have your referral's contact information before proceeding with the form.)

Step 4: Notify your referral of your submission and be sure they apply to the same job ID that you have listed on the form. *(Ensure your referral has not already applied for the job you are referring them to. Referred applicants that have already submitted their job application to the position, before their referral submission by the current UNC Health employee, will be invalid.)

Step 5: Talent Acquisition will notify Payroll at the referred employee's six (6) month anniversary, and then again at their twelve (12) month anniversary of their start date. Half of the referral bonus pay-out will be paid to the referring UNC Health employee at their referrals six (6) month anniversary and the other half will be paid at their referrals twelve (12) month anniversary date.

Please select a UNC Health entity below to learn their guidelines and position eligibility.

Who is eligible?
