Clinical Laboratory Incentive Program

*Clinical Laboratory Incentive Program effective to those hired on/after May 3, 2021. Those eligible for UNC Medical Center or UNC REX Healthcare jobs may receive either the commitment incentive OR tuition loan forgiveness listed below.  Eligible parties will receive one or the other, but not both incentives.

 

Program Guidelines:

  • This is a program in which the specific positions below are eligible for tuition loan assistance and commitment incentive bonus.
  • ​To be eligible, candidate must be employed, and continue to work, in one of the regular full-time qualifying positions listed below (Full-time is 36 hours or more per week).
  • ​To be eligible, candidate must not be currently employed, or employed within the previous 12 months, at any entity within the UNC Health system.
  • To be eligible, candidate must not be currently employed as a per diem, traveler or contract staff at any owned entity within the UNC Health system.
  • To be eligible, candidate must remain in good standing throughout the work commitment period.
  • If the employee receives a final written warning, resigns or is terminated, the incentive will be discontinued.
  • Be in active status at the time the installment payment is payable; otherwise, the payment will be cancelled (and not paid on any future date). Remaining installment payments will be paid if the employee returns to active status, as long as the employee meets all other eligibility requirements.
  • Remain in the department where initially hired.

 

Tuition Loan Forgiveness:

UNC Medical Center is offering tuition loan forgiveness to new hires of $10,000 in four (4) equal installments over four (4) years in order to attract qualified candidates that have earned a bachelor’s degree.

UNC REX Healthcare is offering tuition loan forgiveness to new hires of $15,000 in four (4) equal installments over four (4) years in order to attract qualified candidates that have earned a bachelor’s degree.
