UNC Health Caldwell Commitment Incentive Program

 

Positions identified as eligible with payout amounts:

  • CRNA - $30,000 sign-on + $20,000 commitment incentive (effective for offers on or after 8/8/23)
  • CT Technologist - $15,000
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (Acute Care & Telemetry nights only) - $7,500 sign-on (effective for offers on or after 9/5/23)
  • Medical Assistants, Certified - $3,000 sign-on + $3,000 commitment incentives (effective for offers on or after 10/16/23)
  • Medical Lab Tech - $2,500 sign-on + $7,500 commitment incentives (effective for offers on or after 8/8/23)
  • Neurodiagnostic Tech - $5,000 sign-on + $10,000 commitment incentives (effective for offers on or after 2/6/24)
  • Pharmacy Tech II (Inpatient/Retail) - $3,000
  • Pharmacist - $10,000
  • Physical Therapist I - $5,000 sign-on + $10,000 commitment incentives (effective for offers on or after 1/9/24)
  • Radiology Tech - $3,000 sign-on + $12,000 commitment incentive (effective for offers on or after 4/28/23)
  • Respiratory Therapist - $3,000 sign-on + $12,000 commitment incentive (effective for offers on or after 4/27/23)
  • Respiratory Therapy Supervisor - $5,000 sign-on + $10,000 commitment incentives (effective for offers on or after 2/6/24)
  • RN Clinical Nurse I (New Graduate) - $5,000 sign-on bonus and a $10,000 commitment incentive
  • RN Clinical Nurse II (Telemetry Nights Job IDs 60997, 88310, 69459; Float Pool Premium Pay Weekdays Job ID 110264; Float Pool Premium Pay Weekends Job ID 110265) - $20,000 paid over four (4) years or $15,000 paid over three (3) years (effective for offers on or after 1/9/24) 
  • Ultrasound Tech - $5,000 sign-on bonus and a $10,000 commitment incentive (effective for offers on or after 9/27/23)

 

Program Guidelines:

  • This is a program in which the above specific positions are eligible for a commitment incentive bonus.
  • ​Be employed, and continue to work, in one of the regular full-time qualifying positions listed above (Full-time is 36 hours or more per week).
  • Not currently employed, or employed within the previous twelve (12) months at any UNC Health system-owned entity. 
  • UNC Health Caldwell per diem and traveler/contract staff that transfer to a full-time UNC Health Caldwell position (30+ hrs/wk) will be eligible for the commitment incentive options in approved areas. (guideline updated on 8/22/23)
  • Remain in good standing throughout the work commitment period.
  • If the employee receives a final written warning, resigns, or is terminated, the incentive will be discontinued.
  • Be in active status at the time the installment payment is payable; otherwise, the payment will be canceled (and not paid on any future date). The remaining installment payments will be paid if the employee returns to active status, as long as the employee meets all other eligibility requirements.
  • Remain in the department where they were initially hired.

 

Pay-out Details and Schedule:

CRNA - $30,000 sign-on bonus to be paid in first 30 days + $20,000 in commitment incentives paid in two equal installments after the 12 and 24-month anniversary dates (effective for offers on or after 8/8/23).

CT Technologist - $15,000 may be offered. $2,000 will be paid within the first thirty days of employment. The remaining balance ($13,000) will be paid in three equal installments every 12 months over a three-year period.

Licensed Practical Nurse (Acute Care & Telemetry nights only) - $7,500 sign-on bonus to be paid in first 30 days. (effective for offers on or after 9.5.23)

Medical Assitants, Certified - $3,000 sign-on bonus to be paid in first 30 days + $3,000 in commitment incentives paid in equal installments after the 12 and 24 month anniversary dates (effective for offers on or after 10/16/23). 

Medical Lab Tech - $2,500 sign-on bonus to be paid in first 30 days + $7,500 in commitment incentives paid in equal installments after the 12, 24, and 36-month anniversary dates (effective for offers on or after 8/8/23). 

Neurodiagnostic Tech - $5,000 sign-on bonus to be paid in first 30 days + $10,000 in commitment incentives paid in equal installments after the 12 and 24 month anniversary dates (effective for offers on or after 2/6/24). 

Pharmacy Tech II (Inpatient/Retail) - $3,000 may be offered.  $1,500 will be paid within the first thirty days of employment.  The remaining balance will be paid after the twelve-month anniversary date. 

Pharmacist - $10,000 may be offered. $5,000 will be paid within the first thirty days of employment. The remaining balance will be paid in two equal installments over two years. 

Physical Therapist I - $5,000 sign-on bonus to be paid after 30 days + $10,000 in commitment incentives to be paid in two equal installments of $5,000 at the end of 12 months and 24 months.

Radiology Tech ( within the hospital and practices) - $3,000 to be paid at 30 days of employment   +    Commitment Incentive - $12,000 to be paid in three (3) equal installments at 12 months, 24 months, and 36 months (effective for offers on or after 9/21/23)

Respiratory Therapist - Sign-on Bonus - $3,000 to be paid at 30 days of employment   +    Commitment Incentive - $12,000 to be paid in three (3) equal installments at 12 months, 24 months, and 36 months (effective for offers on or after 4/27/23)

Respiratory Therapy Supervisor - $5,000 sign-on bonus to be paid in first 30 days + $10,000 in commitment incentives paid in equal installments after the 12 and 24 month anniversary dates (effective for offers on or after 2/6/24). 

RN Clinical Nurse I (New Graduate) -  $5,000 will be paid as a sign-on bonus and is paid within the first thirty days of employment. Additionally, a $10,000 commitment incentive will be paid in three (3) equal installments every twelve (12) months over a three (3) - year period. 

RN Clinical Nurse II (specific Job IDs listed above) - $15,000 (with 3 year commitment) or $20,000 (with 4 year commitment) may be offered to an experienced RN. For 3-year commitment, $15,000 will be paid in 3 equal installments at 12, 24, and 36 months. For 4-year commitment, $20,000 will be paid in 4 equal installments at 12, 24, 36, and 48 months.

Ultrasound Tech - $5,000 will be paid as a sign-on bonus and is paid within the first thirty days of employment. Additionally, a $10,000 commitment incentive will be paid in three (3) equal installments every twelve (12) months over a three (3) - year period.  (effective for offers on or after 3.20.23)
