UNC Medical Center & UNC Faculty Physicians Outpatient Commitment Incentive Program

Incentives are applicable to outpatient clinics affiliated with UNC Medical Center and UNC Faculty Physicians. 

Effective to those with start dates of 2/7/2022 or after.

Ends – TBD and re-evaluated by administration.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Employed in an eligible full-time outpatient role (at least 30 hours per week) or per diem outpatient role listed below.
  • Not currently employed, or employed within the previous 12 months at any UNC Health system owned entity.
  • Employee must remain in good standing throughout their commitment period. If an employee receives a final written warning, the incentive will be discontinued.
  • Staff transitioning from per diem float pool to permanent clinical staff would still be eligible for the remaining balance of the standard commitment incentive, as applicable.

Incentive Expectations:

  • Employee must be in active status at the time of installment payment; otherwise, the payment will be cancelled. Remaining installment payments may resume upon the employee's return to active status.
  • The work commitment is to the organization where initially hired.
  • Employee may be allowed to transfer and maintain the incentive if the receiving department is eligible and approved by the accepting manager/director.

Commitment Incentive Offerings:

$10,000 paid over a three (3) year commitment period. Payment is spread over a 3-year period in six(6) installments. Payment is made after each six (6) month period of work is completed.
